About Jack Riley

My name is Jack Riley. I’m a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, college hockey and lacrosse player, recruiter, and the founder of Lax & Puck.

Hockey, lacrosse, training, and personal development have shaped nearly every part of my life. I have played both college hockey and lacrosse at Grand Canyon University, and I am still competing in college hockey today while continuing to chase the highest level I can reach as an athlete.

My experience also extends beyond playing. At GCU, I helped recruit players with backgrounds in the WHL, BCHL, USHL, and other high-level junior leagues. I was mentored by former AHL general manager Jon Olver, who taught me how the hockey business works behind the scenes and helped me better understand recruiting, player evaluation, career development, roster construction, and the realities of advancing through the sport.

Alongside my athletic career, I have spent more than 10 years training in the gym. What originally began as a way to become stronger, faster, and more effective in hockey and lacrosse eventually became a passion of its own.

Over the years, I have trained for strength, athletic performance, muscle growth, conditioning, fitness competitions, recovery, and overall health. The gym became another way for me to challenge myself, develop discipline, and continually work toward becoming the best version of myself.

My goal has always been to build a lifestyle that allows me to feel great, stay healthy, look my best, and perform at the highest level possible—on the ice, on the field, in the gym, and throughout everyday life.

Lax & Puck is the result of that lifelong obsession.

It is where my love for hockey, lacrosse, fitness, health, performance, and personal growth all come together. It documents my continuing journey as an athlete while giving me the opportunity to share what I have learned with players, parents, athletes, and anyone working to improve themselves.

My mission is to provide honest guidance, useful resources, and practical information that help people train smarter, understand their athletic path, make better decisions, and build a lifestyle that supports their goals.

Lax & Puck is not simply a brand or a temporary project. It is my life’s work, a lifelong commitment to pursuing my own potential while helping others pursue theirs.
